The Secret of the Hittites Fortune Teller/Keeper™ Book Safe

It’s no secret that anything you put in this ouija book safe will, by default, be The Secret of the Hittites. And since we’ve removed the literary content, if you’re curious as to what it may have contained, theoretically you could consult the ‘talking board’ opposite the cavity. Results may vary. The Hittites, you may remember, flourished c. 2000 B.C. and whooped the Egyptians a couple times. Apparently, they only disintegrated after a fire destroyed their capital and their younger generation migrated. That might’ve been the first case of ‘ugh Millennials’.

Judging the book safe by the cover: beautiful, deep red cloth cover in great shape for over 60 years old. Title and borders in gold on the spine; silver chimera on front cover. A chimera, in case you’re interested, is a fire-breathing female monster with a lion’s head, a goat’s body, and a serpent’s tail. It’s also a thing that is hoped or wished for but in fact is illusory or impossible to achieve.

Book Size: 6 7/8″ x 8 1/2″ x 1″

Inner beauty: traditional Fortune Teller/Keeper™ ‘ouija’ board; in the cavity is an image of a relief of an Egyptian goddess, either Hathor or Isis is my guessis; another god, perhaps some worshippers and some friendly advice on the planchette.

Compartment Size: 4 1/4″ x 7″ x 7/8″
