The only thing of substance I unearthed on this book is from a 1908 newspaper article entitled, Work of a Blind Author. Miss Rhoades was a dear friend of Helen Keller’s. The article says her publishers were astonished to find that she was blind, that they accepted her work on its own merit. That seems an odd thing to say, but what do I know? There’s also a sub-genre of tasteless jokes dedicated to Helen Keller, which is equally odd. Due to the limited info I found, I’ll bring up something else odd from an Amazon review of this book: It takes place in an era where people were kinder, gentler, and much more respectful. It’s about a young rich woman who was disowned by her father when she married an artist. Kinder, etc. unless you marry an artist. Odd.
