Insolent Chariots

The car’s ‘face’ on the front of this book safe looks very sinister. I remember watching the movie, The Car, as a lad. It’s about a murderous, driverless Lincoln Continental. Scared the hell out of me. Anyway, the word on the street is that this book was very prescient of our situation today. Do we drive cars, or does the auto industry drive us? That’s heavy. On a lighter note, did you ever hear the Phish song, Contact? It’s a fun little ditty in the vein of “the head bone’s connected to the neck bone…” only the ‘contact’ of the song’s namesake is that of the wheels of the car making contact with the road. It’s not a lyrically profound song, but it’s got a good beat and I can bug out to it.

The silver type on the spine and killer car graphics on the front AND back really pop off the black cloth cover. I love that the front of the car is on the front cover and the back of it’s, well, it’s on the back.
