Game Bag

Game Bag’s Nash Buckingham, as he’s commonly referred to, has the full name of Theophilus Nash Buckingham. I wonder why he dropped the Theophilus? Aside from its formality, Nash Buckingham is just one of the coolest names ever. It’s like, POW! It’s hard not to say it with some sort of super hero voice, all deep and powerful. Now that it plays in my head, it’s kind of cartoony isn’t it? Now I can’t NOT say it with Dudley Do-right’s voice. Well that’s ruined. Mr. Buck, as he’s also referred to, is most noted for writing a collection of short stories entitled De Shootinest Gent’man. Apparently he wrote in a Southern vernacular. I love Southern accents.

Game Bag looks like it was written by a hunter named Nash Buckingham. The dark blue cloth cover, the classic typeface in black on the spine, the black duck graphic on the front; it’s all so manly. It’s kind of a small book safe, though, so maybe its trying to compensate.
