Congressional Club Cookbook

From the Congressional Club’s website: Founded in 1908, The Congressional Club is a self-supporting nonprofit initially incorporated by Congress to be a non-partisan setting for wives of members of the House and Senate living in Washington, D.C. Today, the Club continues its distinguished tradition of fostering friendships among the Nation’s leaders and their spouses while also serving as a museum and destination for social occasions. I wonder if it was intentional to go from initially…for wives to Today…their spouses? It makes sense. There weren’t any female members in 1908, but now, there’s an all-time high in the Senate at 21%, as well as in the House at over 19%. Seems like it should be over 50% on both counts. #makeelectiondayanationalholiday (#isuckathashtags)

Blue faux leather with gold gothic lettering on the spine and front, with the seal of US Congress also in gold on the front. The cover is sort of cushioned slightly, which could distract your simpler would-be thieves. There’s a small tear on the edge of the spine that has been glued down. It’ll stay put, but is noticeable on close inspection.
