A Field Guide to Western Reptiles and Amphibians with Quarnhole!™

There’s a ruler on the book, so you know, you can measure snakes in the field. This wouldn’t have helped me in the least when I was plumbing some new houses and while setting up in the morning, I was dragging equipment into a unit and realized I had been stepping over a rattlesnake. I freaked out a little bit. A crowd gathered and my being new to the desert, I followed the foreman’s lead. He said grab some big rocks to throw at the snake. In retrospect that was kind of savage and rudimentary, but I was caught up in the moment. Turns out I was a pretty good shot and slayed the poor beast in one try. Being around a bunch of construction guys, it wasn’t long before one was claiming the skin and leaving a twitching corpse behind. That’s some f’d up s. Never mind all that (please), the point is, this is a great, inconspicuous book safe to have in the car or out and about in general.

Light green cloth cover with dark green type and graphics, which include a snake on the front and spine, as well as the ruler on the back. The image in the compartment allows you to brush up on the the anatomy of a snake head; that could come in handy.
